Teaching children to read is the most important of educational endeavors. All children deserve equitable access to high-quality, evidence-aligned instruction. Laura Stewart

Laura Stewart

Chief Academic Officer, 95 Percent Group

Laura Stewart is an educator and organizational leader. She has served as a teacher, administrator, adjunct professor, and director of numerous professional development initiatives around the country. 

Before joining 95 Percent Group, Laura was the Chief Innovation Officer with The Reading League and the Chief Academic Officer for Professional Development at Highlights for Children. She presents nationally and internationally and is a published author. Laura’s passion is empowering educators to positively impact ALL students and ultimately change the course of literacy achievement in this country. 

Mary Dahlgren, EdD

Literacy Executive in Residence, 95 Percent Group 

As the Founder and President of Tools 4 Reading, Dr. Mary Dahlgren has always focused on developing practical tools and training opportunities to bridge the gap between the science of reading and classroom practice. She brings over 25 years of experience in education, having served as a dyslexia therapist, elementary teacher, international literacy consultant, national LETRS trainer, and author.  

Joining forces with 95 Percent Group, Dr. Dahlgren continues to elevate the science behind reading for all educators. 

Darnisha Carreathers, EdD

National Implementation Manager, 95 Percent Group 

Dr. Carreathers has been passionate about literacy and meeting student needs throughout her education career, including roles as teacher, assistant principal of instruction, academic dean, and principal in Texas school districts. 

Before joining 95 Percent Group, she served as the Executive Director of K-12 Literacy in the Fort Worth Independent School District, where she led the science of reading implementation, curriculum and program design, and other literacy initiatives.  

Terrie Noland

Terrie Noland, PhD

CALP, Literacy Leader 

For 27 years, Dr. Terrie Noland has focused on leadership and literacy, first as a teacher and administrator and now as a national Literacy Leader and leader mentor on the latest research on the science of reading. She is a nationally recognized speaker on leadership principles, research, and best literacy practices.   

Dr. Noland is a Certified Academic Language Practitioner, a Maxwell Leadership Certified Speaker, and a President's Advisory Council member. Her passion is building award-winning communities of educators to lead large literacy and professional learning experiences that drive high-leverage growth for administrators and educators.

Ken Kirby

AL Regional Literacy Leadership Specialist

A passionate educator, Ken began his career as a Kindergarten teacher before serving as a building-level Alabama “Reading First” Coach.  Later, as a Regional Literacy Specialist (RLS) with the Alabama Reading Initiative, he supported multiple districts in northeast Alabama.  In 2017, as K-12 School Improvement Specialist for Marshall County Schools, he supported reading, math, science, and overall school improvement initiatives across twelve schools.   

Ken has recently supported sixty K-3 schools across north central Alabama as a Regional Literacy Leadership Specialist (RLLS) for nine school districts, managing elementary curriculum, assessment, Science of Reading implementation, student-centered coaching, and impactful processes supporting the MTSS framework.
