National Title I Convention

Fast Track Students to Read Multisyllable Words in 5 Minutes a Day

Thanks for joining Dr. Susan HallTitle I Booth 4 (2).jpg and 95 Percent Group at the National Title I Convention in Long Beach.

Many of you were able to see Dr. Hall live as she shared effective strategies for teaching struggling readers to read multisyllable words.

Decoding is an essential skill that directly impacts reading accuracy, fluency, and comprehension. Participants who attended this session were able to learn 5 minute instructional routines designed to help students solve the mystery of multisyllabic words by recognizing patterns, identifying correct vowel sounds, and applying syllable division rules.

Our session was packed!

Judging by the size of our audience, it appears that helping older students fluently read multisyllable words is a HOT TOPIC for educators.  Title I booth 6-1.jpg

As a result, we want to make sure that everyone who attended the conference has access to the material Dr. Hall presented.  Take this opportunty to download this information now and share it with your colleagues.

Let 95 Percent Group help accelerate reading achievement on your campus this summer

Multisyllable Routine Cards (MSRC)

Do you have a large number of students in grade 3-8 who aren't comprehending grade-level or content text because they're weak in reading unfamiliar multisyllable sight words?

The routines can be used whole-class or as effective small group intervention lessons to help students quickly decode words and improve reading accuracy, fluency, and comprehension.

As you'll see in the video below (and just like Dr. Hall demonstrated at the conference), this instructional strategy has a game-like feel and levels the field so that ELLs and strugglling readers aren't at a disadvantage.
