## Phonics Continuum

95 Percent Group’s *Phonics Continuum *provides a sequence of skills arranged according to difficulty. This continuum also includes a suggested grade level for skill mastery, as follows:

End of 1st grade – Short vowels in CVC words as well as with consonant blends and consonant digraphs plus the long vowel silent-*e *pattern,

End of 2nd grade – Remaining long vowel patterns including vowel teams, *r*-controlled vowels, and complex consonants such as *dge*, *tch*, and silent letters like *kn *or *gn, and *

3rd grade – Multisyllable words incorporating the six syllable types.
