Laura Stewart, Chief Academic Officer, 95 Percent Group
In her role as Chief Academic Officer for 95 Percent Group, Laura Stewart drives our leadership position and is our primary Reading Science advocate. Her journey began as a classroom teacher and a school district administrator which ignited her lifelong passion for empowering educators to positively impact ALL students and ultimately change the course of literacy achievement in this country. Before joining 95 Percent Group, Laura served as the Chief Innovation Officer for The Reading League and was the Chief Academic Officer for Professional Development with the Highlights Education Group and is a LETRS® Certified Trainer.
Joni Maville, Director, Content Development
As a former first-third grade teacher, K-3 Reading Coach, and K-8 Teaching and Learning Specialist, Joni understands the critical need to close phonics skill gaps as early as possible for all students to help them become joyful, confident readers. At 95 Percent Group, Joni is committed to meeting ongoing instructional needs to improve student outcomes. In the past two years, she was part of the product development team that introduced the 95 Phonics Core Program®, 95 Phonics Skill Series™: Short Vowels, and the 95 Phonics Booster Bundle®: Summer School 2nd Edition and Tune-Up, and the MSRC Presentation Files.
Renee Hall, Supervisor of K-5 Reading, Wicomico County Public Schools
Dr. Renee R. Hall oversees the ELA curriculum in the 17 elementary schools. With a passion for reading and student achievement, she has served in this role for 5 years. She has been a building leader as a Principal and Assistant Principal at various schools in Wicomico County for 14 years. Prior to Wicomico County, she was an instructional coach, facilitator, and classroom teacher in Dorchester and Queen Anne’s County.
Barbara Karsnitz, M.Ed., Second Grade Teacher, Fruitland Primary, Wicomico County Public Schools
As an elementary teacher for over 40 years, Barb has shared her passion for reading with countless students. Her enthusiasm for teaching extends beyond the classroom as she mentors future elementary school teachers at Salisbury University (MD). Barb is a past member of the Wicomico County Education Association Negotiations Team and has served on multiple school and county committees.
