Aligning text with core and intervention instruction, providing seamless practice opportunities, to foster skill development.
Reading research is clear; developing strong readers requires providing quality, evidence-based text that directly supports aligned instruction at each grade level.
Decoding is a critical component of phonics instruction for early K-1 readers and helps students sound out words and understand phoneme and letter sounds, moving from recognition to comprehension. As phonics skills develop and students transition to second grade and beyond, the need shifts to provide authentic text that allows them to practice new skills.
Join Laura Stewart, Chief Academic Officer, Lia Ferro, Director of Product Management, both from 95 Percent Group and Louise Baigelman, CEO of Storyshares, in this engaging webinar as they discuss:
- Current research on providing students at all grade levels with engaging text that allows them to apply and practice new skills to mastery.
- Aligning text with core and intervention instruction to provide seamless opportunities to foster skill development.
- How the 95 Decodable Duo™ book series offers two application opportunities for K-1 readers to master sound-spelling relationships and strategic decoding skills.
- How the 95 Readables™ for grades 2-8, provide a fun, engaging chapter book series that uses authentic text to build background knowledge, develop vocabulary, and model complex language structures supporting core and intervention instruction.
